Maurice Radke of Spunge Media is the 2006 ZeppOS Designer award recipient for his work on the Nevada Passage ( www.NevadaPassage.com) website. Continually designing out of the box designs, Maurice exemplifies ZeppOS design standards.
Dean Karam of VTHawaii.com is the 2006 Media Vendor award recipient for his work on the Hickam Air Force Base 15th Services Squadron ( www.HickamServices.com) website. A pleasure to work with, Dean has produced over 75 high quality virtual tours for ZeppOS clients and has proven to go above and beyond on each project.
Michelle Harrington of Emagine Website Design is the 2006 ZeppOS Distributor of the Year award recipient. Michelle's work in securing the market on the Isle of Kauai has directly furthered the mission of The Zeppo Network, Inc. launching a reseller record of 4 ZeppOS managed websites in a single month. Claudia Clement of the American Lung Association of Hawaii is the 2006 ZeppOS Content Manager of the Year award recipient. Claudia not only spearheaded the initial content gathering, input, and formatting but also has been the most active ZeppOS content manager with more updates to the ALA ( www.ALA-Hawaii.org) website over the last 12 months than any other maintainer. Claudia also maintains a personal site on the ZeppOS platform.
Naomi Hazelton and Jamie Giambrone of the Pacific Edge Magazine are the 2006 Zepp0 Entrepreneur of the Year award recipients. A ZeppOS empowered client, Pacific Edge has not only demonstrated tremendous entrepreneurial spirit by launching a new company in a competitive industry but they distribute Hawaii's only magazine dedicated to young entrepreneurs ( www.ThePacificEdge.com).
Reyn Yonashiro, an 8th grade student at Mid Pacific Institute, is the 2006 ZeppOS Youngest Maintainer recipient. Reyn was introduced to his first computer at the early age of 10 years old and due to his interest in digital animation was drawn to Flash Multimedia. Working closely with the Empowered Crew, Reyn developed and maintains a website for a salon co-owned by his mother, Salon Nanea ( www.SalonNanea.com).
The People's Choice Award was awarded to Applied Artistry. The winner was chosen based on over 250 votes from Hawaii Business Magazine, Pacific Edge Magazine subscribers and web visitors. Applied Artistry ( www.AppliedArtistry.com) was created by eMagine Website Design and features a cutting edge design with Flash Multimedia image galleries.
Tammy Kubo of VisitMyPet.com is the 2006 ZeppOS Most Unique Website award recipient. VisitMyPet.com is a "MySpace" for Pets, where Pet owners may post profiles in 3rd person ( www.VisitMyPet.com).
The 2006 Zeppo Awards Lifetime Achievement Recipient goes to Bill Wyland.
Always a hard working and enterprising man, Bill successfully embraced the many opportunities presented to him. He was born and raised in Madison Heights, Michigan. When he turned 18, he joined the Air Force and started as a fireman and later became a professional skier in charge of the ski patrol for Europe. After completing his service in the military, Bill was hired as the ski patrol manager at Echo Summit Ski Resort in South Lake, Tahoe. There he started his first real-estate marketing company, Westen Marketing, which specialized in marketing of Time Share resorts in Lake Tahoe. For the next several years, his business expanded to several Time Share resorts throughout the United States, including Hawaii. Bill ended up in Hawaii on his honeymoon and founded the first Wyland Art gallery in 1988 in Haleiwa, Hawaii, located on the beautiful North Shore on the island of Oahu. This later expanded to all four major islands and quickly became the biggest Fine Art Gallery chain in all of Hawaii and one of the biggest in all the US. Today, there are over 40 family owned Wyland galleries and distributorships throughout the United States.
A savvy angel investor, Bill has invested in numerous companies in the United States as well as Asia. Though not a self proclaimed techie, Bill Wyland has played a key role in the success of The Zeppo Network, Inc. and subsidiary Empowered Internet Solutions, LLC. He has lent valuable business advice and mentorship to the Zeppo Crew pulling from his vast experience as a successful entrepreneur.
